The collaboration with mechanical testing technology provider Plastometrex (PLX), follows the recent Morf3D launch of a new 90,000-square-foot facility in Long Beach, California. This new Applied Digital Manufacturing Center (ADMC) is a hub for strategic partnerships with global companies, creating technology solution integration for the additive manufacturing market.

Cambridge-based Plastometrex has developed a revolutionary new method for measuring the strength of metallic materials. Their flagship product, the benchtop Indentation Plastometer, is capable of measuring metal stress-strain curves from a 5-minute indentation test. The system is being used globally to reduce testing and qualification workflows in additive manufacturing by up to 90%.

Behrang Poorganji, VP of Materials Technology at Morf3D, had this to say about the collaboration:

“We are delighted to work with Plastometrex, a fast-growing company with a product that addresses the speed of qualification in additive manufacturing. Their novel testing method will enable us to accelerate the development of prototypes and initial production parts across multiple industries.”
